2008 Elections

Senator Dodd

I was reminded again this morning that Senator Dodd is running for president in 2008. I actually don’t know too much about him personally or his platform, but I have been impressed with a few of his actions while in the senate. For one, Senator Dodd led an inquiry into credit card company marketing and billing practices back in January of this year (2007). While I am a fan of credit cards, I fully acknowledge that they are proving to be a bad thing for many Americans, and something must be done to fix this growing problem. This morning I learned that Senator Dodd is blocking a bill which would give telecom companies a “get out of jail free card” for allowing illegal wiretaps on American citizens. While this blog attempts to provide information and not opinions, I have to admit, in my humble opinion, that I think this is a great thing that Senator Dodd is doing. I also think that the phone and communications in general are great things, but the telecom companies have abused their role as the carriers too many times for my sympathy. If you too think that Senator Dodd is doing the right thing, you can visit this website to show your support: Thank You Senator Chris Dodd

Today marks my first personal contribution to any candidate. I just donated $2 using a personal credit card (not a business!) to Senator Dodd. As I explained, my wife and I are expecting our first child and have to start saving for college now! :-)
