Not much has been in the news lately regarding the 2008 presidential elections. The big news has of course been focused on the violence in our world, from the Virginia Tech massacre, to the continued war in Iraq.

Barack is giving money back to special interest groups and pac contributions, that’s pretty good. So much of politics is dominated by lobbyists, it is good to see someone going against the tide, even if it is in vain.
In other news, WGHB is airing a new special about the Mormons. I had always thought Mormons practiced polygamy, but according to Wikipedia, the practice has been discontinued since 1890:

Mitt Romney is a Mormon.
I’ve never heard of Ron Paul before, but I just read on Digg that he is another Republican candidate running for office in 2008. The post on Digg.com reported that he is saying the US is going bankrupt.
Seems to me that the race is being led by Obama, Hillary, Giuliani, and Romney - which should make it interesting. Who will this country choose? Romney is a mormon, Obama is an African American, Hillary is a woman, and while I have no issues with any of that, I suspect that a lot of the voting public does take issue with those characteristics in their potential candidates.
It would be a drastic change from the traditional and conservative Bush administration to have a “first” whatever in the office in 2008. What will that first be?
Its a contest between Hillary and Obama for who can raise the most money - and we’re still quite early in the process. Its too bad that so much of elections these days is about finance - but perhaps that is a good thing in a way because money flows like popularity to some degree.
In other news, Giuliani is also focusing on fundraising, Edwards has stuck to his guns amidst his wife’s cancer relapse, and Romney goes hunting!
